On the night of the elopement, Dwight entertains during a society party at which Florence is a guest. Florence is killed, and the district attorney attempts to arrest Dwight. Outsmarting the man, Dwight locks him up and then impersonates him, proving that Talbot murdered Florence to keep her from running out on him.
